Man it looks really good for an old interceptor. Please post some more pictures, they bring back some great memories! I remember taking these out of the crates and washing the packing oil off of them way back in 83. We sold a ton of these bikes and then installed just as many cam shafts! After riding the CB750F, the interceptor was a huge step forward.

a few days ago i was dead set on a '84 VF700F that a guy was gonna sell me for $1050 with 26k miles, other than that it was pretty sound, ready to ride but needed a back tire for sure, no telling what else, chain, sprockets, etc....

i just met a guy today and he accepted an offer of $1200 for his '83 VF750F with 23k miles, which may sound a little steep you think at first, but he has already done alot of stuff that would have ended up costing me much more, the '84 i had looked at with a rear tire mounted would have had me $1200 in the hole already, but this bike has two new tires, new chain, reworked carbs, new fuel line/s, new seat cover, new fork seals, new paint job, etc......i dont remember what all else he did to it, but he also has "pretty much every part to build another one as far as relays, rectifiers, fuel pump, resovoir tank, etc..." that he is throwing in for that $1200 as well

so all in all, i think it was a good deal, should be able to pick it up by the end of the week, it's my first bike and so far my bike riding friends have told me it is a great bike to have as a first bike

    i'm pretty excited

I think it's a good bike for your first bike also. Plus being that you don't have thousands in it, it wont hurt (your wallet) as much when you down it, and it's inevitable(sp?). You know what they say, there are two kinds of riders: those that have wrecked and those that will wreck...and a lot of us are both. :)

I found the Bridgestone Battlax tires are great, so great this the second tour for this type of tire.
