Ok, what is your guess for gas prices (regular) by the end of the year? OPEC president predicts a barrel of oil will be over $170.00 by years end. Doesn't seem too far-fetched as a barrel closed over $143.00 today.

I am predicting $6.00 by year end. What is your guess? Try and round to the closet dollar for the poll, but put what ever exact amount on your post if you want.

I predict $5.00, but it doesn't matter cause if it gets much above four, I will be walking everywhere I go cause I won't be able to afford to drive or ride. :-(

I'd say $5.50-5.75. Regular is $4.50 around here, California, and premium around $4.75.

Unless something drastically changes, I'm betting it will be close to $6 by the end of the year. Its around $3.90 here now and its just June/July. With oil breaking records every week! Sucks to be dependent on foreign crude.

Just saw a news report that experts are saying gas could hit $7.00 a gallon. This is getting to be BS. I make a decent income as does my fiance, and even though we have some debt between us (ok, mostly me), it's getting to the point we won't be able to enjoy life.

See, the thing is, I know that some other (European countries, Canada, NZ, and OZ) countries pay more than us for gas, but then issue is that everything is connected to fuel, one way or another. If the cost of fuel goes up, so does produce, milk, twinkies, candy, PEZ dispensers, Cable TV, Cell Phones, etc.... Not only does our gas bill go up, so does everything else. Even if you ride a bicycle or walk, you are affected.

Also to consider is we have it good right now, we can go to the gas pump and have our fill as often as we want. If something happens to the supply chain and gasoline becomes rationed or unobtainable....then we will be in for some hurt. Even news of some potential supply issue is enough to get people running to the pumps to fill up possibly causing a shortage.

I'm guessing $5. I think with the inception of a new president, I'm hoping whoever it is will do SOMETHING about it. The price of food is crazy, as is everything else. We need alternative fuels, not just gas.

    Except for VFR's of course!!

I think it'll be around $5. I don't think whoever gets elected pres will have too much say over which way it goes. They maybe can do a little but prob not too much. Now if everyone in government wasn't riding in cars that taxpayers paid for the fuel for, they might care a little more. I'm starting to feel as cynical as the late George Carlin. It reminds me of the healthcare issues. The people in government have great benefits so it's hard to get them to care too much about what others pay for medical.

at current oil prices, it would take OPEC just six days to buy GM and three years to buy a 20 percent voting block in every S&P company.

$3.50ish a gallon for 87 here in OK.

Probably end the year around $2.50-$3.00/gal.

Dang. I've been paying OVER 4.50 for months. $4.70 is the highest I've seen for regular. Diesel- forget about it.

Over here, petrol peaked at about £1.15 a litre (just over $2.00).

    So that's about £5.00 a uk gallon (4.5 litres) just under $10.

It's now down to £1.10 a liter for normal unleaded about £1.18 for premium.

Thats just over $7.00 a us gallon (I think).

No matter how I ride it my 4th gen fuel light starts to glow at 190miles

yeah, here in the US we have always had it good compared to European countries and many other countries for that matter. The issue always was that we consumed more of the fuel than any other nation (by far) and had a huge land mass in comparison to most countries so naturally we used more fuel hence lower costs. Catching us up with the rest of the world in 4 yrs has been pretty tough on us, though. Especially if you have an SUV and a 4WD pickup. My truck mostly sits in the driveway and then I move it to another spot every month or so. There's no sense in trying to sell it cause everyone around here is in the same boat...
