I just finished this project today; a 1989 Honda NX250 (water cooled four valve DOHC single), you rarely if ever see one, The bike was in very bad shape when I started.

No not Europe only (AX-1), it was a 'world bike' and sold everywhere; it was only in the US in 1988,1989 &1990 and sold in limited numbers here. If you want to know more:

will it actually get 85mpg? How comfortable is it at 85mph? It looks pretty nice. I'd ride it. Are you gonna ride it or just built it for a collector?

I don't kmow if it will do 85MPH but should be able to tell you that and if it will get 85mpg in the next two weeks; I still need a few parts (on the way) before I can ride it. JIM

Nice work Jimtt. I like it. Especially the paint job.
I used to ride a '93 DR350S and would usually get just over 65mpg.
Those are air cooled and I had nobbies on it and a jet kit & slip on.
It would go 85+mph too. (Indicated) Not so comfy at that speed of course.
I am very curious to hear what millage you end up getting.

You may be right John; I will let you know; I had a Honda CL90 in 1968 that got 86MPG so the NX250 is not going to get there but I am thinking it will be over 60MPG _ I will find out soon.

you also have to figure at what speed you're doing it. for most people getting 85mpg going 35mph won't work.

see what the mpg at about 60mph is :)
