    Hello all,

Well after a few weeks of hunting cycle trader, Ebay, and the local dealerships here in Jax I have found a Bike. Just droppede a deposit on an 05 Interceptor. BRIGHT red with 3400 miles. I have been searching high and low and just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

I was almost set to buy an 06 with very low miles , but I could not get the price low enough, 9K was just too rich. I worked the two dealers, back and forth with the sales man from two dealerships. They tried and tried to out do each other until I took the bait. It was kind of funny, my wife thinks I have it out for salesman now but I did get the deal I wanted.:ncb:

I will post some pics in a few days. it is Very clean, and the previous owner did add a few nice touches.

I am stoked to say the least.

    Pics to come.

    Mike

    Just a little update.

I ended up backing out on the Red 05 VFR. I was back and forth with the two dealers the very next day and one of them really outdid the other.

I snagged this 06 black perl baby with 485 miles for a hell of a good price. I figured I would post a quick pic. This is at the dealer, hopefully I will have some better pics soon.

Now I need to do some research on the break in periods and what is required along with the oil change at 600 miles. The dealer said they did the service but I am not sure, so far I was not able to get any paperwork on that service.

    I love the new ride!!

    see ya

Congrats! I really envy you! I'm also in Jax....was that Purcells showroom? I almost pulled the trigger last Moday, myself... unfortunately, I made the mistake of informing the wife what I was doing, as I was leaving to go pick up the bike. She absolutely blew a gasket! Not what I expected.....:bs:

    Anyway...on to Plan B....

Hopefully, I'll be joining the VFR ranks soon, myself. Enjoy! Gorgeous bike!

Plan B...just pick it up and bring it home. Deal with the consequences and fallout when it happens. That's what I did when I got my dirtbike 3 years ago. She was HOT...but got over it in a few days.

She left town for a business trip, I brought it home and parked it in the garage. She got home from her trip, opened the garage pullled in, and there it was in all it's glory.

You could always trade her in on the bike.

    Thanks guys.

Yeah this bike is spotless, I just couldn't pass this one up.

Yesiree , Purcells. There is still the other one, it is less $$ too. If you are still looking there is a NICE bike over in the lot at NAS JAX, I think a 98 for around $3.5k, or a couple others over on Wells at the Suzuki dealer. Shoot me a PM if you want info on some of the others that are available. I have been searching hard.

    see ya

I saw the black one at the Suzuki store on Wells you're probably talking about last Friday. I think I drooled on it....

I bought my dirtbike at Purcells. Great selection, but I've never walked away feeling impressed with the staff. Congrats! I'll have to PM you when I get mine. I heard there's a decent turnout at Buffalo's on wednesday nights.

    Heh,
Yes the staff is a bit ...layed back. They did alright by me tho so I really can not complain. We also have a Ninja 250 on order for my wife to learn on.

On the Suzuki place, they have another two interceptors in back. There is a red 05 with 3400 miles they wanted $7500 for, but it has gold pegs and faring screws:yuck:, then another that comes pre dropped, I did not look hard at the scraped up one, but the red 05 is pretty sweet if you can see through the gold Sheit.

Yep, I feel for you. I have a KTM 625 Dual Sport that I love. I have always picked up bikes and sold them. So, the only way I could convince her on a second was to buy a few and turn right around and sell them. I have been picking bikes I would like to own, buy them and when I figure out they arent just the right bike for what I want to do, I sell them. The last one, a 919 I sold in about two weeks after I put some tires on and other stuff. I have made some good coin on those so I now have carte blanch to pick one up when I see a deal.

Which brings me to my latest purchase. Drove the wife and kids up to NC for vacation with the in laws for two weeks. Flew back as I always do at this time of year because work is very busy. Land Monday around noon. I live in Orlando, Drive to Daytona around 5 and pick up an 02 VFR for 5K. 17K miles well maintained by the original owner who has had 3. Its in nice shape. Threw on some new grips, has fairly new rubber and seems to run good although I have a few questions on the bike in general. So far I like it. I am going to ride it this weekend all day Saturday (need to ride the KTM Sunday in Ocala).

The question is, if it turns out to be the ultimate bike, can I part with it? Right now I say WHO CARES

Not a bad plan, eh? In another year I should have enough profit to buy one outright and still buy and sell them.
