Hey Jayzonk, congrats!! Definately keep those rpm's down for the first 600 miles. No open throttle starts or redlines for at least the first 300 miles. Try to vary your rpm's in several gears for the first 600 aswell. You should find a chapther in the owners manual that discusses the break in period. And F.Y.I. brother, you're driving a V-four not an inline. That's were all that distinctive sound is comeing from.

Ride safe and have great one!!!!

I think you and the other fellows have answered your questions so the only thing for me to say is CONGRATULATIONS and keep it safe. I find the dangerous time is after 1000 miles when it is broken in and it is easy to think you know it all. Always remember that trouble can happen quickly...just keep your mind on the task and try not to grin too much. Welcome to the club!
