If you absolutely must leave your helmet at your bike at least don't get something that just locks it through the D-ring. Two seconds with a sharp knife and it is gone and all you have is a piece of a strap. The thief doesn't care whether it has a strap or not.

I use the best helmet lock in the world: Mine goes wherever I go, always.

Im lookin for some way to lock a secondary helmet to the Motorcycle somehow to carry a 2nd helmet for passengers....like if i was going to pick up a friend or something just to keep the helmet from coming off the motorcycle while driving down the road if that makes cense..i usually carry my helmet everywhere cause it would be really easy to cut off the D ring i just didnt know if there were any companies that made helmet locks for these bikes

I carry a small cable lock in my tail bag. If I leave the helmet on the bike (rarely) I run the cable through the helmet and secure to the bike. I have seen VFR's with a generic helmet locks mounted to the passenger peg hangers. If you want to carry a helmet I would either get a spider net and secure it to the passenger seat or get a set of hard bags.

If you don't want to use a backpack or a case how about using a bungee cargo net? I'm not sure if it will clip onto the rear seat - I have the rear seat cowl on

I'm cheap, so I use a "D" bicycle lock. I can lock just the bike by sliding it through the wheel or the rotor. In fact, I've locked two helmets thru the chinbar to the rotor. You have to be a little dexterous to do this though.

It's so big, it's hard to miss when mounting your bike.

Pricey, but how much is your helmet worth??

??? 6th gens have built in locks.
take off the seat and you will see 4 u shaped black pieces of metal. Slip the D ring over the U. Replace the seat. You can see there is a cut out for the strap as the plastic lip around the storage area is cut back where these U pieces are.
Have not riden witht he helmets on this set up but seems to work well. I do agree should not constantly leave a helmet out, can get cut, could rain, evil gremlens could spit in it. ext.
For a trip to the park with the wife you had to bribe with going for a walk to get her on the bike it works great as if it rains you are close.
Should mention it does matter what way you put the helmet as it seems quite tight, supose this was done so the helmet would not flop around when you ride.

Some what suprised no one mentioned this.

yeah...i took my seat off at work this morn and got to lookin at it and figured it out....i the strap with the D rings was the perfect length so it was a good tight fit...and seemed like it would stay in place well...i sat on the bike in the riding position and it seemed like it would work quite well...didnt have time to take it up the road like that though...im just scared that if i ride with it like that it might scratch my paint...so i think ima just buy a back pack...thanks for all the help and suggestions everybody
