I just filled up my 2007 today. I got 44.8 MPG. My total commute is 60 miles of highway and back roads. Speeds range from 45-75 MPH. My bike never gets into VTEC range because I'm just going with the flow. Oh yeah, my bike is completely stock.

I'm getting 45 mpg but that's with using a backpack instead of the hard case luggage.

It is tough getting into VTEC on my commute. Too much traffic and not enough open road. When I'm out joy riding, then it is a different story.

CORRECTION: I just did a longish trip, about 150 miles, and I refueled and measured how much fuel it took and how long until my last fill up. I found out I used 5 liters per 100 kilometers, again with docile driving. I believe that comes to: 47.04 Miles Per Gallon..

    I love it :)
This is VFR 2008, stock everything..

I usually get 280 - 290 km (175 miles) when into my last bar but not yet flashing red. I have been putting in 91 Octane but now wondering if it makes any difference. Probably smooth right wrist is the biggest factor.

I've had the bike 3 weeks and put 900 miles on it. Initially I got on average 42 mpg mostly city driving. As I've gotten more and more comfortable on the bike I've started riding it harder down curvy back roads but still getting 38-40 mpg.

last tank: 17.2 litres used for 283 km. That's 6.1 litres per 100/km. Or, 175 miles with 4.5 US gallons, that's 38.8 mpg.
The 22 litre fuel tank = theoretical distance of 362 km or 224 miles

    Type of riding: mixed city/highway
    Type of rider: semi-aggressive
    Type of fuel: premium

    06 VFR with 2,000 km/1,200 m on it.

    Notes:
    1 litres = 0.264172052 US gallons or 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres
    (1 US gallon = 0.83267384 Imperial gallons)
    1 kilometer = 0.621371192 miles or 1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers

Hey this is cool: try putting 'convert 6 litres per 100 kilometres to miles per gallon' into a Google search....

Oh  I just realised you guys are using US Gallons which are a bit more than 0.8 of one of my gallons which means my 42mpg is actually 33.6mpg to you. That's dreadful! If you are getting around 40mpg that would be 50mpg to me which is what I expected in the first place. So there must be something wrong with my bike - I ride very smoothly and I always used to get 50+ on my old pre-vtec VFR.

    Are my maths right?

Some people say grade makes no difference to mileage, other people swear it does. When you calculate your fuel consumption, I'd be curious to know what grade fuel you used in that tank.

I'm using 95 Octane - that's our standard grade. I tried Super once which is 97 and is supposed to add 10% but it made no difference for me except emptying my wallet a lot more.

I know that there are different ways of calculating octane rating. If that's your regular, would 95 octane in the UK be the same as 89 or 87 octane in NA?

    Filled up today after a few shorter rides over the last couple weeks;

    201.3 mi. /4.550 gal.= 44.242 mpg.

Not as good as previous fill-ups this year but this was over a couple weeks and shorter rides including a couple bike nights. Mostly a more moderate pace overall!

Ok so how about this... There is talk that our speedo's read approximately 10% fast. If anyone with a GPS could confirm that, that would be cool.

With that said, 200miles per tank may actually only be 180  and you know what that will do to our numbers

No Jason, The speed on the bike shown about 8 miles faster than the bike sould be (Your gage shown 87mph, Actual speed is 80mph). The distance of travel will stay the same.:ncb::vader::bootyshake2:

Last time I checked my speed was off by a little over 8%. However, I THINK the mileage was very close. If I can remember I'll try and check this week. If not one of the gadget guys that always ride with a GPS should report in shortly.

Edit - Scuba beat me by a minute.......
