You poor guy!! Thank God you are ok tho - could have been a lot worse!!

I know how you feel - I bought my VFR in January, dropped it in March! Rats! Didn't hurt anything tho, but did spook me. We ALL do this at one time or another. So don't beat yourself up too badly.

Get back on and ride! And take it easy on the corners.

    Good luck to you!

    Theresa

    Interesting story Chris.
A friend recently had new tires installed.
The shop told him that they were going to ride the bike for some
miles to try to remove that stuff from the tires.
And they told him to take it easy for say 40-50 miles just to make sure.

Ten years or so ago I knew a guy who was a m/c salesman. He once told me he lost count of the times he'd seen a brand-new bike ridden off the dealer's lot at one entrance and get pushed back onto the lot at another entrance, straight to the Service Department.

The upper cowl corner stickers and the two red stripes, top and bottom of each side cowl can be purchased. As well as the "Interceptor" on the rear cowl. You will need to go through a dealer and give them your vin which they should have. They come with alignment marks and are easy to put on especially if you use the "wet" method.

Hey FrankoQ, my next bike after the GSXR was the 95 VFR I told you about. I have to scan my pics and post.

I looked it up: Cosmoline: petrolatum of a heavy grade, used esp. as a protective coating for firearms, metals, tires, etc.

This happens pretty often. When I was a tech some years ago I did the same thing on a PDI test ride on a customers brand new GSX1100F affectionately know as the Katana. I was in too much of a hurry and it resulted in a very embarrassing moment. And we gave everyblody the "cosmoline advice".
