Must have been a later '71+ version, they strangled them badly with emission controls dropping 0>60 to more than 8 seconds...As for curves must agree then again not many normal cars are in the GTI's league for handling it would be like a fit '80s Hulk Hogan smaking down a 14 year old high schooler.

I just got my VFR about a week ago. I was reading the owner's manual last night and could have sworn it said pump octane of 86 was what the bike called for. Isn't that regular?

I've never had an issue running 87 in my VFR. The only time I don't use Regular is when I fill up both the VFR & Hawk at the same time. The Hawk uses Super so if we are riding at the same time, the Wife & I usually pull up to the same pump.

It's a '71. It's not that his car sucks & don't think that I'm trying to bash old school cars. I love muscle cars & would love to own any number of different models. I am just being realistic when it comes to their performance. This car has a small carb'd V8, 14" crappy tires, 3 sp auto, no posi, etc. In the cold harsh world of reality, it's a low performance car & just about any V6 FWD Honda Accord will lay the smack down on it. Just about 95% of the muscle car performance data is a crock.

    KC-10 FE out...

Like Hulk Hogan beating up an 8 year old then

Agree that published company HP figures of the time were suspect due to the manufacturer quoting the bench figure without ancillaries but surely a Magazine like Road & Track eg 0>60 stopwatch testing at a strip with guys wearing Lab coats should be close to the mark even if the average driver couldn't quite match them on the street ?

I would agree. What car do you know that does this? The lowest milage we've seen was 46-47 over the first two tanks fo gas. The highest drop would be 6mpg. Curious about where you got the 10+ figure from.

We do hot and gooey pretty well in NH as well.(earlier this week, temps around 95, heat index of 105) Personally I've never gotten on the habit of using the AC. I just open the sunroof. But in my earlier post I wasn't refering to the AC, it was during colder temps when the climate control system had the AC and heater battling it out. I'm not certain how much sense it makes to have a system like this on a Prius if the goal is maximum gas milage.

Wasn't really looking for your permission to like the car, but thanks anyway, I guess.
