    Hi Folks,

My '84 VF has been sitting in the garage suffering from ignition issues. So I've decided, after 24 yrs., that it's time to upgrade :^). My choices are an '07 RWB VFR, or an '08 VFR as I want a new bike (the '07 is just out of the crate, so I'm told). Both are in my price range, and I may end up riding one home, ~450 miles. So, my question is, any major changes between '07/'08 models that should influence my decision? I like both color schemes, and I'm quite interested in the idea of the anniversary edition bike :^). My existing VF is Red over White with Blue striping.

    TIA,
    Anders

Not a bad position to be in! Originally, when I purchased my bike I wanted Red (I just prefer solid colors & no/little graphics and think the red is sweeeet). But, my only 2007 choices were burgandy & RWB - and I didn't really want either (and the 2008 silver didn't do anything for me). However, when I saw the RWB in person (in the sun light), It looked awesome (especially the subtle sparkle in all thre colors)!! Plus, I like the 25th annv. thing... So, that's what's in my garage!!!

I don't believe there are any mechanical changes between 07/08, but the better informed among us can confirm.

It's a personal preference, so get what you like - no bad choices! Congratulations in advance...

The only change I'm aware of is color. The RWB would complement your '84 nicely.

The RWB has darker wheels than the single colors, so even if they are dirty, they don't look too bad from a distance.

    Hope that helps!

The frame on the RWB is also black where the other models the frame is silver. I don't believe there are any other differences between the 07/08. I looked at both the RWB and the Silver 08 and went with the RWB with no regrets.

I too am about to pull the trigger on a new VFR. I found a leftover RWB and started BS'ing with the sales schmuck and found out that there really isn't a market in this area for these bikes, hence the left over. Their loss, my gain. Hoping to have the deal worked out by the end of the month. My income tax check is burning a hole in my pocket already. I definitey love the RWB colors.
