84 vf750f turn signal problems

    hey everybody, i just bought this bike earlier this week, im in the process of cleaning the carbs and when i was messing around with everything that the blinkers didnt work, the rear bulbs dont even light up and on the front the opposite bulb lights up but the bulb in the direction i selected does nothing, i checked all of the bulbs and there filiments look fine, any ideas?

    I had the same problem on an '85 VF700F... Remove the front fairing and feel around up under the headlight for a wire bundle. It's wrapped in a rubber boot. This is your lighting bundle. Now, you will have to trace the wire colors to the two front blinkers and make sure that all the wires are a) plugged in and b) have a good connection. I found that one of my wires was not connected and it caused the left blinker to not light up when the bike ran, and hence cause a "fast" blink when you signaled left turn. You will have to do the same thing with the rear valance behind the seat. Find the wires and make sure they are all connected. I'm sure this will fix your problem (assuming the blinker mechanism's aren't inop)

    hey man thanks for the advice but figured it out already, my turn signal relay was shot so i got a new solid state universal and it works great, thanks anyway
