Time to join the Internet ranks of VF riders!

I ride the '85 VF500F blue flavor, all stock - my avatar is an old pic, before I found some stock pipes and put 'em on - and still running great with about 21k miles on the clock. Had it for more than 10 years, after I promised a pal who had one that I'd buy it if he ever wanted to sell.

Been riding since '85, first street bike a Kawasaki KZ400 twin, then an '83 VF750C Magna. That first Magna was an amazing bike. Fell in love with the lumpy V-4 sound and smoothness. Followed by an '83 V65 Magna, '84 VF500F, '83 VF750F (stolen!), an '84 VF700S and finally this one. The only thing that'd make me sell the now-almost-antique VF500F would be a VF750F in as good or better condition, or maybe a 2nd or 3rd gen VFR..... nahh!

I do my own maintenance where possible, valve clearances excepted (hate doing that). Finding parts is gonna get tougher as time goes on, depending on what breaks next. I hope to be able to both offer and get help on this excellent board!

I don't consider your bike an antique. It will still run with any 500cc offering that they have today. I'm glad to see that there are other VF500F enthusiasts out there. Welcome to the forum.

Hey guys, I'm also new to the forum and to the bike. I bought an '85 yesterday that's gonna be a small project. Needs a few parts and tlc and she should be street worthy in about a month. This looks like the place to come if I need any help or tips.
