I go to SBNW every year, and have gone to the Hellscanyon Ralley for the last couple of years but not this year. Five of us snuck over to hells a month ago, 1300 miles in 3 days, no freeway riding. It was a blast. The Hells canyon rally is really geared to the cruiser / Harley crowd and there are lots of cops. But its a "must do" at least once. Now SBNW! I won't miss it. Let me know if your going, you can ride with us. I met a couple of guys there, who are now very good friends. Matter of fact one of the guys lives in Seattle and went to Hells canyon with me last month. I have some pics posted of our trip.

Living in Boise, I usually make it up to Hell's Canyon a few times each year. Spring and fall are best, imho, as it can get seriously hot in summer. I avoid any type of m/c rally involving cruisers, especially in prime twisties areas. As much as I enjoy Baker City, no way would I go there during the rally.

Never been to SBNW, but I tend to avoid crowds anyway.

I'm wondering if the route between Halfway and Joseph is cleared of snow yet.

Thanks guys I will ride almost anytime. I riding to Baker with a group of sport bike guys and gals. We have hotel rooms close to all of the activities and we ride with our own group. A lot of cruisers for sure but still fun. Now SBNW that is another story. I encourage everyone who likes sport bikes to go. The same group of us are leaving for a trip up to and around Glacier National Park the week before SBNW and will end up there. I'm the only VFR rider there so I could use back-up if anyone can come on the trip. If not I hope to meet some of you at SBNW. The group I am riding with is a mixed group of Guys and Gals and we will do mostly camping along the way. The ages range late 20's to early 60's. The bikes range from Concours 14, VFR, Ducati's, Aprillia. Good people and a good ride.

    Hells Canyon Rally

Well I'm headed out tomorrow after work and going to spend the night with friends in Bend. Friday morning I will hook up with two Ducati riders from Medford and head to Baker, OR. Hope to see another VFR rider there.:sportbikesmile::sportbikesmile:

How were the roads around Hells Canyon? Any snow still?
I'm planning a 4 day weekend in that area starting next Thursday. We're staying at the Wallowa Lake state park, but also have a camp site at Hells Gate SP in Lewiston in case the weather is crap in Joseph.

Looks like it's getting warmer up there now, but even a week ago I was still worried about snow/slush actually falling while we're camping. That would suck.

I'm also going to SBNW this year. I went last year and also in 2004. Last year I still had my K1200S, this year I'll be there with my VFR. Looking forward to it. It'll be my first long weekend on the VFR.

The roads were perfect in the area. They just cleared all of the roads around Joseph and the hight elevations. It had snowed a couple of days before Hells Canyon Rally but fine how.
I will be a SBNW also hope to see you there.
