Hello all...just wanted to share this little bit of info...I've been hitting eBay every few days for the last year or so looking for a pipe for my white 93...have seen quite a few. Some TBR's...even a TBR hi-left exit! (expensive!) I really didn't want to spend days tearing into the bike and wanted to be able to make her stock without too much trouble. Tonight I found a Vance and Hines Racing slip-on for 90-93...looks to be in very nice condition...the guy even has the original box. And the "Buy it Now" price was $45! (plus another $20 USPS) V&H isn't the Cadillac of pipes, but it'll work for my purposes. Had a complete V&H system on my first road bike...a 1984 VF500F new off the floor back in the day. (headers and all) Really loved the sound...but I didn't have much to compare it too.

Why share this? Well...my wife's asleep and nobody else to tell! Moral of the story must be to stay patient, and keep digging.
    Have a good night all.

Yeah..isn't that how it goes...assuming everything works out OK (shipping, install, etc) I'll post a before/after pic. Should be fairly ho/hum looking but I'm mainly interested in the sound. Have a good one.

    (Thread hijack)

Did you have to do anything special to get the 4th gen Staintune to fit on your 3rd gen? I just got a 3rd gen and am currently in process of cleaning the carburetors among other things. I'm worried the exhaust is going to basically fall off if touched; it's in rough shape.

    Hijack continued
To fit the pipe i had to move the signals to the lights beside the brake light.Replace the exhaust with a 4th gen, front pipes can stay as they are the same, shim out the passenger peg with washers for more clearance and make 2 flatbar hangers for the pipe,1 at the rear and 1 to mount to the passenger peg.It took about 3hrs start to finish. There is another bolton on ebay right now.saw it last night, there haunting me

Did that the day I brought it home :)

I'm a hair unclear here - buy a 4th gen (stock) headers and midpipe and bolt it on, or just use the headers from a 4th gen full-system kit? (The headers are the parts I'm worried about - they're in rough shape. I'm afraid if I touch them, they'll crumble)

    I'm clear on this part.

Aww, now you've gone and done it. I might have to bid on that. The muffler on my 91 is ... 17 years old and has 50,000 miles on it ;)

(Actually, I have to get up the courage to pull the carbs, and I figured I could possibly rejet since I'll have it all apart anyway...)
