Hello, I'm new here. This looks to be a great forum! Just ordered a 2007 VFR800A in the 25th anniversary Pearl Blue/Pearl White/Red colors and I can't wait for it to arrive, should ready be within a week or two! Much research has indicated this is the Honda I am looking for for some road fun. I started with a 2008 CRF230L which is tons of fun and so light weight and nimble it is great and lots of fun off road too. However it is not well suited to long distance higher speed trips, hence the VFR800A on order!

Thanks for the welcomes! I see I am by no means alone on this vehicle! [IMG]

I need to check into a few things, such as possible discount places to get the luggage (dealer wanted $999 for the two side luggages?, and like $250 for the trunk and another $250 for the mounting bracket)? I don't think I'll need these right off but long term I might want to try some longer trips on this fine machine!

My only regret is the dealer did not have any Interceptors in stock; they said they sell only a few a year so they do them on an order only basis. I was considering a cruiser style cycle but after sitting on a few I didn't think it was what I was really looking for.

Thanks again for all the welcomes and info! Nice pics you all have! I was reading about this gen VFR possibly having a voltage regulator issue? Is this something you might suggest just replacing with something beefier right from the get go? I mean I'd hate to be 100 miles from home and have that clunk out.

powerslave, yes the 230L is a lot of fun and super friendly to learn on. I just did 200 road miles on it this weekend. It is kind of buzzy and not suited for long hiway trips but it is still fun! The DOT knobbies aren't too bad at 55mph though. And it will have to tide me over for road trips til my VFR comes in! Unless the wife is planning to do any offroading with it, I would probably go with a Nighthawk, it's cheaper, is twin cylinder so probably a little less buzzy and more road suited. That's what I drove in the MSF course and it was light and easy to handle too.

Hi, just picked her up today, 2007 VFR800A RWB #0211. Did a 140 mile trip, and wow, I am just so happy with the viffer. I still cannot stop grinning. She's just so spunky and smooth. I got into VTEC range a couple of times and wow yes it is like someone flipped a switch as others have described.

I was nervous going to pick it up, since I'm a new rider and this bike is much different than my other steed (CRF230L). The dealership is on a major hiway near a busy intersection, so I did some figure 8's in the dealership parking lot and some stops and starts until I started to feel at least a little comfortable with how she handles before pulling out. The salesperson mentioned the steering is more of a 'lean' on a sport bike than and actual turning of the bars, which took a little bit to get used to.
