Yes, welcome! Glad to see any new member but especially a woman. You'll keep us in line. And good to hear more bicycle talk around here, especialy from Ewryly! Bikes do help with MC riding. I did 30 miles on the Mtn bike on Monday.

Welcome to the forum, Jean! I am the infamous "Shorty" - the one that has to keep all of these silly boys in line and scare off the women with my somewhat degrading humor. :vfrshorty:

I live in Scappoose which is just under 3.5 hours from you. I'm actually very familiar with your area (my parents have a small cabin and 40 acres near the golf course right outside of Sisters).

Be sure to let us westsiders know if you head over the pass!

First of all - Shorty - it is great to know you are not a mythical girl VFR rider....I thought maybe all the boy-o's were just trying not to scare me off by telling me other women riders existed and were part of this wild little group. Love your RWB.

Trickygirl - welcome - nah, I haven't named my bike - don't want the guys to think they have us all figured out. Your Charlotte is a beauty!

It has been a fun few days since I signed getting messages and reading the threads.


I was just getting ready to go for a ride, but it is raining again....has been doing so for 5 days and we are not used to that in Central Oregon.....hopefully, it will clear up soon.

There is another female here! Theresa Greene - and this is a great forum! I was researching what kind of bike I was going to purchase, and stumbled on this site - sure glad I did. Shorty & I have yet to meet up, but we will soon. I would love to take a ride up to Bend and meet you - or have you come down.

I live in Aloha, very SW Portland and would love to get together with anyone that lives out this way! TrickyGirl - love your bike! Very pretty! But I love my sexy red 2002 with Remus pipes. Gosh, they sound too cool!

Anyone wants to get together, just PM me! Glad to have more women joining. When I first started riding (when I was 16, about 46 years ago!!) there was not a women to be seen on a large street bike. I love it that women are now buying bikes for THEMSELVES!!

Beautiful bike and beautiful dog.....we both have red VFR's and we both have German Shepherds! Would love to ride with you some time, however, though we are close to the same age.....you have been riding many more years than I have. I am a real newbie, have only ridden since last July (except for a few times on dirt bikes as a teenager). Let me know if you are ever headed over to Central Oregon and we can meet up. :smile: Jean

Thank you for the welcome, it has been a lot fun and I have gathered a lot of information about my bike and lots of other stuff the past few days. All it took for me to want to ride was....when my husband started riding again after a 10-year break, I rode two-up with him twice the first week....and when he asked if it was fun....I said yeh, but I want to be on the front. So, my journey began last July and here I am less than a year later with my Interceptor. Moving pretty quickly, but when you as OLD :frown: as I am one has to make up for LOST time.
