Aftermarket Seat For 05' VFR

Any suggestions for aftermarket seats on an 05' VFR...Stock seat isn't to comfortable for long trips?? Thanks in advance!

Viffer2005, I may have a deal for you. I just bought a Sargent seat last week, put it on my bike road 700 or so miles and I'm ready to sell the seat. There is nothing wrong with the seat, and most people will probably think I'm crazy but the seat is not comfortable for me. I'm sure its a great seat for 95% of the people out there but I'm just to short so I don't fit the seat right. As for anyone else, the seat is up for grabs I just hadn't listed it yet when I came across this post. The seat has the black welt and is very gently used and has nothing wrong with it.

 

Thanks for the heads up on the Sargent seat at Sandhills... I did a little over four hundred miles in two days this last weekend and felt inspired to start looking into a better solution than the stock seat. I've got a couple of six hundred mile (round trip) jaunts to NC coming up and I think it would be a worth while investment.

 

I just put 3500 miles on my new sargent in 8 days, at it was great. I have heard good things about Rick Mayer seats elsewhere, and a friend at work just got one for his bmw, but I haven't heard of any vfr riders with one of his seats. They seem to get great reviews.

I have $326 in the seat. I'd like to get as much of the 326 as possible so I can spend it on trying a Corbin or maybe one of those Rick Mayer seats. Otherwise I have to get mine modified. I had my seat modified on my 5th Gen VFR and all I can say is find the right person to do the work.

 

I personally just went to e-bay and found a used stock seat and picked it up for about $75.00 and I am going to find some good padding/foam to use on it for those long rides and then recover it. I am going to also pay close attention to the passenger padding for all of those who I give rides to so they feel more comfortable. I'm keeping my stock seat the way it is for the short rides and so I can still use my rear seat cowl.:rockon:

 

The rear seat cowl fits with the Sargent. It is a bit of a stretch the first time you put it on but once it forms to the seat its no problem after that. Check this LINK HERE to see my bike with the Sargent and the cowl.
