I had bought a Corbin seat for my 91 VFR about ten years ago and found a fitting issue, the seat base does not touch or ride on the frame like the OEM seat and the edges of the seat ride on the side plastic, there is about 1.0" clearance between the seat base and the frame, has anyone else seen this fitting issue with the Corbin? when I contacted Corbin they said the bike must have been wrecked and no one else has had this problem, I have owned the bike since new and it has never been down, it still looks like show room new.

    Best regards, Kent

I have had Corbin seats on 2 bikes now, and I love them. However, I have read many times about the poor customer service at Corbin - which is a real shame. They are going to drive away a lot of potential customers.

Is it possible that there are pieces missing from the underside of the new seat? Parts that should rest on the frame?

Considering the $$ you spent on the seat, and the fact that you know for certain that your bike has never been wrecked, I would insist on having your issue escalated to someone there with more authority. I would take good clear pictures of the problem in advance, and ask them if you can email them in so they can see the problem for themselves.

Good luck to you. I really wish Corbin would improve their customer service. They normally make a good product...

I'll get some pic's and send, I believe it does have the rubber bumpers on there but the sides of the seat contact the plastic side panels before the bumpers contact the frame, I have added some rubber bumpers to the frame to make up the difference, I don't know if they have the wrong size bumpers on the seat or they didn't trim the edge of the pan enough before covering it.

    Regards, Kent

I have a Corbin on my SV, and although I like the comfort, the quality of the brackets and the fit is poor to semi-lousy.
