    Hi VFRrers

Has anyone purchased a friction type cruise control for their machine? I am thinking of getting one but can't seem to locate one for a 2006 VFR. Anyone with some feedback or advice as to where I might get one?

    Throttle Lock

Hello, and welcome to the site.

I've got the NEP Throttle Lock (see picture), and it works great. Cost is about $20.00. The NEP is designed for late model Honda's with dual throttle cables.
Many people also opt for the Throttlemeiser, but the cost is around $120.

There are several post on this subject....just do a search.

Good Luck and enjoy the site.

I agree. I too have the NEP, throttle lock. Have had it on two different Honda's, works great. I purchased mine from Cycle Gear, $18. Takes about 2 minutes to install.

Just purchased the throttle lock mentioned above, couldn't find it on cycle gear so I went to Ride now powersports. 18.50 plus 7 bucks shipping. Let you know how it turns out.

I bought a Universal Vista. Couldn't get it to work very well on the VFR, so I just put it on the ACE. Works fine there.

Which one is better for the 5th generation VFR? Then NEP throttle lock OR the Vista lock? Is the 5th generation a dual cable?

Mine is a 6th Gen, but I'm pretty sure the NEP would work with yours as well. As long as it's dual throttle cable.

Vista Cruise fits most older (70's, 80's, 90's) Honda and Kawasaki dual cable thorttles.

My 2nd Gen was a dual cable throttle (Push/Pull) I don't think VFRs were ever made without Dual cables

I have the throttlemeiser and it looks great, works just fine and doesn't take up any grip space. I can also fine tune my speed with just a twist of my wrist.

I bought a Vista cruise for my 4th gen. I had to do a lot of filing to get it to fit. There is not enough room between the switch housing and the little ridge on the throttle tube (on my bike anyway) It's kind of in the way of my thumb trying to reach the starter.

I think the NEP is thinner and may fit better

I bought the Vista for my 6th Gen last week and it is going back tomorrow as it did not fit well at all. Will look for the NEP. Great timing on this post.

I love my Vista Cruise. It is the universal Honda. $16 at the local Honda shop. I had to file inside the hole and file down the thickness. It works great, it does make getting my thumb to the starter button difficult but that is what pointer fingers are for.
