    Hello all...

I recently bought an '86 F2 from a coworker for a price I couldn't refuse. It's a little bit of a rebuild project. It's mechanically sound (I'm told), needs chain, battery, wiring harness, fuse box, and front end instruments/electrical handlebar controls (brake and clutch are there). It's missing fairings but I'm not all that interested in replacing them anyways - I kind of like the stripped down look.

I have a new chain and battery on order.

After some run-around ordering a wiring harness from a local salvage shop (Baltimore Cycle Salvage - horrible service), I just ordered a used one online that is claimed to be in good condition (and appears to be, from the picture).

Fuse box I still have to find.

I plan on getting aftermarket instruments and controls.

I also need various screws and bolts, since a bunch went missing during the previous rebuild effort.

I've had this bike for two months now and basically have just been waiting to get a working wiring harness. I'm excited about getting it running.

Well that's about it, I just wanted to say hi. Though any tips/advice on the rebuild effort would be welcome, of course.

    p.s. haha I guess I didn't really introduce myself...

This VFR will be my second bike, my first is a '98 BMW R1200C (which I am currently riding). I'd been thinking about getting a sport bike, so when this opportunity came up to get it for $300 I jumped on it.

I live in the Wash, DC area.
