I would have to agree that the VFR should have won first place. The VFR could run circles around the BMW! Someone must have paid them off to get into first place:wedgie:.

That is a long term readers choice. You can still vote and raise the position.

Still can't think of a better all rounder than the VFR..(wish it had a bigger engine 900CC not sure it needs a whole 1000)

The FJ1200 is a nice touring bike but heavey and not as sporty.
Ducati is nice and sporty but expensive to maintain not the same HP. Cool sound though)
BMW more expensive Possibly TOO refined if there can be such a thing
Triumph... The VFR waxes the speed tripple.

Things that aren't necessarily considered are:

    Maintenance cost
    availability of service
    origianl cost
    Total cost of ownership

When you look at the technology you get for the price in a VFR, Add it to Honda reliability, RElitavly low cost of maint and low cost to opperate the VFR still needs STRONG consideration.

    YIKES!!! that BMW is UGLY!!!
Rear fender looks like they stole it off my utility trailer,
Looks like something thrown together with spare parts.

    VFR should absolutely be no.1!!!

    Hi, Rev
I am just joking. This is not a thread to talk who hasa cooler coloured bike., since
all of VFR are fast enough and cool.
We might see each others sometime since we live not too far.

For crying out loud.............. we all all know that version takes a back seat to the 4th gens .. how easy we are forgotten.

That I agree, should have placed higher over the BMW, IMO those bikes are not even in the same league, so why the comparison?

    A useless comparison.

By the way, I love my VFR but I wouldn't claim that it "waxes" the Triumph Speed Triple. That is an extremely competent and powerful naked.

Wasn't the yellow VFR only for 2000?? And the poll is for 1999. The poll is also for SPORT/TOURING. That BMW doesn't look to have any sport to it!!!

The Tractor has sport. As in "You're touring on that tractor, sport? What a shame!"

I just put in my ratings - I'm one of only 44 people to vote on the VFR - soooo... If a few of you guys vote, we should be able to push it up in the ranks a bit!

    current site?

In the UK the VFR was yellow for 1999. The ones imported into Cyprus were UK models, we had red, black and YELLOW
