Yeah, so one of mine vibrated loose, and is gone.

Does anyone know where I could pick one, or two of these up? Or what would be a decent replacement?

    Thanks,

    jkimbro

Dealer is where I got mine. Cost about 10 bucks a piece I believe....something crazy expensive.

    EDIT: I just looked....$13.56 A PIECE!!!

I've wondered what the chances are of finding or making a replacement screw with a head that was easier to turn with just fingers. I don't take mine off very often but when I do it would be nice to not need to use a screwdriver or key to loosen it initially.

When I have my gloves on, I can get them out pretty easily.

What happened was, I normally will go by redbox and get a movie or two...well the slim cases slide nicely under the seat cowl, but to get them out I have to take off 1 side of the cowl. I left the screw barely screwed in, so the next day I could just slide the movie under there (even though I can do it with it tightened down), and just flat forgot to screw it back in. Sucks.

I guess I'll be heading to the dealership.

I found a neat push pin style retainer on either the corbin of sargent seat website the other day. More expensive mind you but the easy removal factor may make it worth while. I lost one of mine as well and am considering this option. I will find the site and post it.

I thought about picking some of those up before, but I was worried about somebody popping them off.

How the hell can Honda feel good about charging $13.56 for one of those damn bolts?!! Oh, the humanity!

I have had them for about 4 years now, no one has bothered them. They have a little hole in them so you can attach some fine wire to it, and tie them off behind the rear cowl if you really think you need to.

Definitely not worth $37 to me but the more I looked at those things the more I get to thinking that they can not be that hard to replicate. Just need to find a round headed pin that will fit in that hole first. Hmmmm.......now I have a new mission, I'm off to the hardware store to see what I can dig up.

My brother machined a nice stainless steel pair for me (he's a machinist, and I'm not). They're very nice! I'll try to remember to post a pic. However, I now use the Sargent quick release pins. Makes life a bit easier.
