Ive had a few poor shifts lately where its popped out into a false neutral or back into the lower gear making painful sounds, what I want to do is drop my oil pan when I do my upcoming oil change and make sure I dont have any metallic junk in the pan waiting for a chance to cause more issues before my summer road trip.

My question is, is there a gasket between the oil pan and engine that im not seeing or is it just a bit of sealant?

No need to suggest buying a shift star kit. its on my long list of things i'd like to have.

    Thanks in advance.

The shop manual shows no gasket there, just calls for use of "Three Bond 1207B or equivalent" sealant on the mating surface.
