Changed my oil and now my air temp reading is about 8 degrees too high. Also, it does not react when I go through a patch of cool air in a valley road (formerly, I could watch the reading change almost as soon as I felt the rush of cooler air). Could I have covered up the sending unit or damaged it when removing the plastics? Where is the sending unit? Please help.

The air sensor is located on the right side upper fairing in front of the radiator.
If you sit a minute the temp rises and once you move the temp starts to go back to reality. I have been tempted to move the thing to under the triple clamp to get out this.
