My Problem : Well ok, too hard to explain. Here goes anyways, hoping someone can give some advice or some kind of insight. I have been having some trouble with wiring issues in the front of the bike right behind the gauges. This past sunday I was riding the better part of the day turn it off. Go back out turn the key no lights, no nothing. I jiggle the wires and were good to go. While driving after this problem started it starts to die then back fires real loud which leads me to believe it is the wiring leading to the starter. I am thinking of ordering a new <insert part name here> not sure if that would be considered the starter or what. I have tried just soldering the wires back but they keep breaking off. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe someone knows how the new starter, or what have you, comes? I hate to order the part just to find out there is more soldering. Won't make the problem go away. Any help is appreciated.

My first post by the way! :)

Hmm not sure if it has anything to do with the starter if it turns over, something to me says the way you have it spelled out is it's in the ignition some where. So look for an ignition wire of sorts, example, kick stand switch will shut things down if its in gear. sounds like either a ground out or a complete open Hmm Feeling like not much help here. Does this happen when you wiggle the wires while it's running in neutral?

    Welcome Kator.

Maybe there's a break in the wire harness from the ignition switch. That would cause the intermittent "no power" and the bang as it re-connects and ignites all the unburned fuel.

where exactly are the wires that:

It might be time to buy some beer and find a friend with a VOM and some electrical knowledge
