So I have been wanting to add more light for some time now. Just to help others SEE ME. I got these for free from my boss at work. 20 feet of wiring, 8 LED blocks with 6 LED's per block. I'm going to be installing them like ground effects for 4 of them, and the other 4 are going to point forward for visibility

Does anyone know the wiring colors of the headlights? Just in case I want to splice into them. Otherwise, I'm just going to run direct off the battery with a switch but that'll get annoying I think...

Black wire with the Red stripe is the power supply wire for both headlights.

Blue wire with the Black stripe is the high beam power wire.

White wire with the Black stripe is the low beam power wire.

    Green wire is the ground.

    Nope!

Got a 5th and a 6th gen shop manual and my camera sitting by the computer table. It's simple enough to take a pic and post it Crusty, less explaining that way.

Besides some people read pictures much better than they do words.

So PA, did you get those wired in? I was thinking about doing the same thing, just tucking some in various places inside the bike to have light coming out of various places. If you haven't done it yet, you should take pics while you do it and post them. I've always been afraid of messing with wiring, but if you had some good pics I might give it a try

That wing will be at Sturgis this year. It will be hoisted on a 120' crane acting as a sort of a quasi three wisemen thing and bigass GPS deal for all the dudes who get lost in the Black Hills.

I also feel that if one is to do lights, the creative streak should not be limited to just lights.

Thanks guys! Have not had a chance to do it. Was going to do it today but other things are happening quick. I'm also thinking it may be better to run these off of the parking light circuit than the headlights? If I run off the headlights they will only be on during either high-beam or low-beam operation, right? But if I wire them to the parking lights they will be on whenever the bike is on? So, colors of the parking light wiring pleaseeee? :-D
