I live 2 blocks from the ocean and the salty air ruined the polished wheels on my previous CBR 1000 Hurricane. It pitted the beautiful polished wheels that I vowed not to have polished wheels ever again. My VFR 800 has the black painted wheels, but I noticed even they are beginning to show spots where thee alloy is bubbling under the paint. I use Plexus to clean/wax my wheels, but I'm wondering if there is anything I really can do to prevent this or is the Pacific ocean just too formidable? :frown:

it's the price you pay to live in the land of eternal sunshine.
i'm up in the hills of west hollywood and even i'm susceptible to the effects of the pacific.
for the past year or so, i've been spraying my bike down at least once a week but i still notice some corrosion on the exposed metal parts. c'est la vie

If you care about your wheels, hug them daily and tell them you love them and that they are the best wheels...better than any others.:crazy:Or powder coat them.
