Danty....I use this stuff. No problems yet. Easily found at Canadian Tire.

I drained all the coolant...removed the overflow bottle and cleaned it out.....stuck the garden hose in different parts of the cooling system to flush out all the old stuff.
Then re-assembled, filled burped and topped off.

Any excess coolant you add to the system will just get puked out the overflow tube at the bottom of the bike.

Okay, here's the deal. If you are EVER to see any freezing temperatures then you MUST use antifreeze. The brand doesn't matter as long as it's silicate-free. Some guys will swear by Honda brand. Others will use whatever. If you will never see freezing temps then you can use distilled water, BUT you have to add a lubricant for the water pump of some sort. A corrosion protectant is preferred, but not required. Water Wetter is a lubricant and a surfactant which helps cooling. There's another one called Engine Ice which is all three. Glycol is antifreeze, BTW.

You only need anti-freeze for the winter. Don't need it in the warmer months. So swap it out twice a year. It will definitely keep your cooling system cleaned out that way.

I did exactly what slowbird did with mine, only I used a cheaper 50/50 mix from Checker/O'Reilly. Prior to the full flush I was running in the 3/4 area all the time and the fan would be on constantly when idling or slow traffic. Afterward, I'm in the 1/2 range and rarely get into the 3/4 range even when it's 108 air temp. No manual fan switch installed, auto system seems to work pretty good so far.

    Good luck!
