So Saturday I went over to Huntington Beach Honda to pick up some parts and I noticed a 5 Gen sitting out front, so curiosity got the better of me and I went to scope it out. Nice '98 with Ohlins shock, Racetech front fork components and 38K miles, very clean too. So the salesman asked if I was interested in this bike, I said "No, but would like to see a 2014 VFR if you have one?". He says, "I had two but the last one went out yesterday". Oh, well I went in got what I needed and left him my number for when the next shipment arrives.

So, come Sunday my Palomar ride got cancelled so I decided to see if Nepix was still going on his "Take a Newbie to ACH ride", he was, so I decided to join him and his friend. As we pull up to the Shell station at the base of the mountain, low and behold there's a white 2014 VFR sitting off to the side. We gas up and park next to the VFR and ask the owner what he thought. He tells us that he just picked this up on Friday and didn't have much time at the helm but was so far happy with his choice. When I asked him where he got his bike, he said "HB Honda", too funny! This was the bike I just missed seeing and it was his '98 that was at the dealership, what are the chances? But wait, there's more...

So we ride up to Newcomb's Ranch to grab some grub and what do we see, bet yet another 2014 VFR, this time in red! But the icing on the cake was the RVF that pulled up just as we were about to step inside. After seeing so many cool rides, Nepix and I took a ride down to Newport Ducati and check out some "Import" bikes but mainly to drop by the D Store to see what was on clearance, I think Nepix really wants a two piece leather suit! Too bad the clearance items weren't in his size. They have some nice Laguna Seca two piece suits for $840. (This is typically a $1100-$1300 suit). Oh yeah, if anyone is looking for a nice 5 Gen for their collection, the trade in from "Doc" (they previous owner) is over at Huntington Beach Honda (Beach Blvd and Slater Ave) and is listed for $2999.00. As mentioned above, it has an Ohlins shock, Racetech front suspension and I think Doc mentioned it also has a Corbin seat. That's a good chuck of mods already done for ya!

14 Interceptor looks so much better in white than red IMO.

Good question, now that I'm working the night shift, my schedule is all FUBAR! I've been working weekends too. After the ride yesterday I had to go to work, no "after ride" drink for me

I agree with that. In fact even the earlier 6 gens in white look great in too. One of the only bikes to me, that look good in white, mmm, maybe a Duc or two.

This is not helping my mental fight between the '14 VFR and the Ninja 1000. They look so. Damn. Good.
