Does anyone here have any experience with the new Gore-Tex Pro Shell leather? Aerostich recently came out with a set of leathers made from it, and even though it's expensive ($1500) I'm seriously considering riding up to Duluth and trying a set on this spring. I think there are other companies making suits from it but I've had no luck finding anything. I prefer leathers to textile, and it would be so nice to never pack a rain suit again.

I have never really seen "fully" waterproof leather anything yet. I saw this before, but I would have to read some reviews on it before I would ever consider it. Maybe it will turn out to be legit. I know it is different in MI, when if you don't like the weather all you have to do is wait 30 mins......however out in SD, we kinda know when it might rain, so it is always easy to carry a raincoat. I used to always have some rain-gear in my tank bag when I rode in MI. Wasn't a big deal to me.

Personally, I am more interested in a nice waterproof reinforced textile, as good reinforced textile is almost as good as leather in many circumstances, but just not as reuseable....but then again that is me, and I am a few bricks shy of a full load...

How's that for muddying up da waters?!!

Hell, all leather is waterproof to me. Cows don't shrink in the rain. My leather has been soaked many times. It dries out, and that just gives it character...like those scratches and torn patches...
