Normally I will crank up my bike and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes before riding. I noticed yesterday that when I started up the road, when it hit 7,000 rpm's that the vtec didnt' kick in and after i rode it for about twenty minutes it started working like normal. Is there something i need to worry about or something i need to do to fix it without taking it to a mechanic?

VTEC only activates once the engine is warm. 100% normal.

Cool. Thanks. I was a little worried, I fix most things on it but when it comes to that its a little too technical for me.

As Jason said it has to be above 65C or 149F for the VTEC to engage.
