    Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, so this is my first post. I decided that my next bike is going to be a VFR, so hoping to pick up some insights here before my purchase. And certainly some after as well :smug:

    Good day to you all.

    Davs Michael,

    Kristian

    Hi Kristian,

Thanks for your reply. How cosy that the second answer is from a fellow country man :) .

I suppose my answer to Pete answers your question as well. About the km: Yes, I understand that a VFR can be in very good condition in spite of many km under the "hood" if well maintained, but unfortunately I don't really have the skills to evaluate that - apart from obvious stuff like the look of the bike and noises. But if I go for an RC36 most of them will have high km figures, I can see (especially because I prefer one color over all the others and not many of them are for sale). Thanks a lot for your reply and info.

Haha, I try to practice my Danish whenever I can!

Seriously, RC36s feel a tad old in comparison with the newer bikes, but, I really like the '94-'97 for looks; I think they're the overall best-looking VFRs out there, though early, white RC36s are gorgeous. But, '94-'97s are lighter, faster, better.

I owned an '02 right after my '98, and liked the 5th Gen better; the latter bike was heavier-feeling, and the VTEC was really quite annoying, plus the absence of the gearnoise, which IMO makes the gear-driven VFRs some of the best-sounding bikes ever made, right up there with Laverda 120 triple, old 8-valve Ducatis, and a couple of others.

I would absolutely not miss a good 5th Gen if you find a nice one; they're already in the books as future classics; they were about as good as Sport-Tourers ever got.

Hvor i DK er du fra?

    Kristian

    Hi Kristian,

Wasn't sure about any potential language rules here, so replied in English :)

Early WHITE RC36: yes, that is exactly the bike I would choose if only looks mattered.

Ok, I understand that I need to reconsider about the 5th gen. And I agree that the gear driven cams adds very nicely to the sound - something I would miss with the 6th gen.

Ooo, your here too, okay, money aside but not much more as they can be found fairly reasonable, 014 white 8th gen.

RVFR, yes, I am here too :) . It was supposed to be a "Hi everyone" only. 8th gen is nice, but unfortunately I live in a country where everything with a motor and wheels is extremely expensive. About 20k USD and up for a used 8th gen. Out of the question :-(

    Hej Kristian

Det må have været omkring '87.
