    Hi all

Currently have an 84 vf750f as a resto project. Was running ok but developed an odd problem. Bikes starts and runs for a couple of minutes. Then she won't tick over, fuel starts to come out of the over flow and smoke from the exhausts . Turn off and the rear cylinders are hot but the fronts are warm. Bike is ending up running only on the rear cylinders. Any ideas ? Coil? Thanks in advance.

Had a similiar problem with my 83 after got all cleaned up this summer. Thought the carbs were off, but it turned out to be a bad trigger connection to the front coil. Clean up corrosion on connectors, common for bike this age.

Bad coil won't have fuel dripping from the vent tubes, so your problem is related to float needles/seats.

With the top of the airbox removed you'd see wet fuel bubbling up from the slide needle hole on the leaky carbs.

Clean the float needles and seats, replace needles if any indentations are seen on the needle tip.

True, but clean contacts anyway, might be both.
