Valentines.......

Congratulations, Vinnie!

I proposed to my to-be wife on Valentine's Day, 2005. A quick summary-

I also carried the ring around all day in my pocket, with the intention to propose in the restaurant. Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans, right??? Strike 1.

Yeah, there were WAYYY too many people in that cramped little place, and I resigned to maybe doing it in the car before the ride home. Well, in the parking lot, there was some sort of gathering (gang/thug territory warfare?) going on, and I decide that getting mugged wasn't really romantic. Strike 2.

BTW - In my haste to get the hell out of there, I managed to back into someone's Buick, but I wasn't getting out to inspect the damage.:biggrin:

So, we get home, and she goes straight to the bedroom to change into her PJ's, and then flips on HGTV and sits down on the couch, seemingly dejected because I "hadn't gotten her anything for Valentine's Day." I tell her to wait a minute, and I leave the room for a minute (for effect), and return with the card that I had actually had in my pocket the whole time. I hand her the card and sit down on the couch next to her. While she is reading the card (which took hours of painstaking selection), I reach into my pocket and have the ring ready when she looks up from the card... The waterworks get switched on, and she happily accepted my proposal. Home Run.

We've been happily married since October 14, 2006 (took a damn long time to plan the extravaganza). Everyone in attendance said it was the best wedding they'd ever attended.

VFRstar - are you an overlord? If so then yes. lol

VT - There were plenty of people in Master Applebees Staurday night. But I didn't care about the crowd. It was good for effect and I got a bonus when my bro started clapping and cheering, which got some of the other tables involved. You could say I was target fixated on one thing, and that was her. That's the only good target fixation to have.

 

I didn't know you got rid of the 93.

That sucks. My first VFR was a 93 pearl white.

It was a great bike.

I would add a host of laughing smilie faces here if I thought anyone would read this and not think it mildly humorous. I prefer not to have the canned laughter. :wink:
