So last year for my birthday I purchased saddlebags for my VFR1200, had to get them from overseas at the time because of back orders. Its been about 14 months since I got them.

Well this morning I was going to ride to the office and I dont always use the bags so I took them off and stored them on a shelf that I have stored them on many times over. Well I forgot I put something on the shelf the night before and when I went to close the garage this morning the bags flew off the shelf. Causing both handles to break and cracking over of the bags..

My questions are, does anyone know what the bags are made of and if you think they can be repaired..

I will take better pics last when I get home as these were supplied by the wifes iphone..

I have a 2007 with bags. I sent an email to Givi which made my OE bags. They told me it was a Poly based plastic. I too had one of them fall off the hook I hang them on in the garage. Purely my fault! I removed the inner rubber seal and used some standard PVC cement from the inside. That was one year ago and it seems to be holding up well. Be very careful it will eat away at any finished surface you get it on and it dries very fast.

And one more thing......very nice toes!!

    Sorry to hear....bummer
Plastic weld will do the job. I wouldn't want to get a replacement unless it is a killer deal.

my home deductible is 1000, but i dont want to use my home owners insurance as it will ding me.. a few years ago someone broke into my car and because my wifes wedding ring was in there we had to make a home owners claim to get it covered.. so i learned my lesson then as they counted it as a big ding against me.. I am going to attempt to repair them tonight with JB weld.. I might see if i can find a replacement for the handles though.. also just noticed one of my fork seals is leaking.. time to call the shop for that and my yearly checkup..

Not sure what they are made out of, but maybe check with a local marina? Since they deal with all sorts of fiberglass boats, various plastics that might be used on consoles/windshields, etc., maybe they'll have some insight.
