When I dumped my 2000, I bent the upper fairing stay. I've been looking for a replacement. The only one I've found is an 04. The question is are they compatable? It's not local so I'd like to be pretty sure before I shell out for the 04. Does anybody know?

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think it would work, but I had to ask just to make sure. As it happened, this weekend an instrument panel (which I also needed) and the fairing stay from a 98 (which will fit) magically appeared on ebay for a very reasonable price. Life is good, my viffer is a little closer to the road.

    Thanks all
    Dave

Seems like a person could have a machine shop fabricate a stay, or repair the old one. It's not like it's visible ordinarily, so who cares what it looks like.

    Thanks paul,
That was on my list of options. As was building a new one out of aluminum to save a little weight. (still thinking about that) Fortunately one dropped into my lap, so life is good.
