"Rogers was killed when a deer that was struck by another vehicle was thrown into his southbound 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, knocking him off and into the road. He was then run over by a 2001 Ford Explorer."

I've ridden for 34 years and have had or seen many motorcycle incidents. But this one takes the cake. This poor gut didn't have a chance.

Was it his time or was he in the wrong place at the wrong time? RIP

I guess when it's your time, it's your time. I ride early morning and late evening on some back roads and have thought about the dreaded "hitting a deer" but, I Would never have even thought about something like that. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.....

There were certainly no winners in this scenario. My prayers go out to all.

damn that sucks hate to hear that ..You just never know what is going to happen when you go out for a ride . The only thing you can do is TRY to be aware of all surroundings..That just sounded like the wrong place at the wrong time.. It's amazing how if you didn't stop here for some gas or coffee you woulda been there, where the accident was or vicesaversa.. I have seen those things when I ride if I was 1 minute up ahead I might have been in that crash I just went by. Prayers go out to his family......GODSPEED.

Very sorry to hear that. The worst case accident is when it is totally out of your control to avoid.

I am curious as to the following distance of the Explorer though. Just yesterday on a two lane rural highway I saw a sedan that wasn't more than 6ft off the rear fender of a Harley. I couldn't believe that...unless the Harley pissed him off...but still...that's ridiculous regardless.

Such a tragic ending. It has to be one of the most biazzre ways to be killed while riding on a motorcycle. My heart goes to his family and friends.
    May you rest in peace
