So decided to do a project to take out the front turn signals on my 03 VFR. I picked up a set of mirros with signal and put them on. Ill be taking out the signals and replacing them with wire mesh that is used on gutters to give accent and to conceal what was behind where signals were. I'll post some pics later, but so far looks pretty sweet. Let me know what you guys think? Only benefit I can see to doing this is mostly looks, but does make a nice opening for air to hit the radiators so could cool the bike down some, but won't know til it warms up yet....Damn Ohio winters

Sounds kinda cool. You gonna be powder coating or painting that wire mesh?

That's a cool idea. I did some of that stuff on litlle brothers Kat a few years back. Was thinking about on Kris's gen3 but it came out too darn good to change it up.

That's really kinda neat. It looks exactly like I thought it would. :thumb:

You're right black is definitely the way to go.

It should be interesting to see how that mod changes the airflow in and around the fairings,or if it will have any effect at all on the cooling system.

Just a thought Kware, make sure any wiring that's routed behind those screens is tied up extra nice and tidy. With the increased air flow and wind turbulence those openings will provide you don't want anything flopping around in there and smacking into your radiators.

Thanks for the advice I thought about that too, but am waiting to put the rest of the fairings on. When I picked up the bike it had been wrecked, and both fairings were scratched so a buddy of mine and I are putting putty on them then painting and then Honda Wing decal kit. So it should look great after all said and done. Not to mention I picked it up for $2700 with staintunes on her so I think so far I'm doing great.

looks good, you might get more air flow to the radiators if you put tubing directing the flow right directly to the radiator (s)...it still looks good.........LOL I actually had to read your original post twice...I was like..he bought mirrors with turn signals, and now he is taking them out...what was the point of buying the mirrors with the turn signals in the first place. Thats what happens when you read posts before having coffee

hmmmm I'm thinking duct work to the radiators but poss splitting it and finding a way for ram air to the air box.
