So a while back - okay, four years ago - my speedo/odo quit. So far I've used the tach without issue. Over the winter I finally got around to looking at fixing it. I bought a new speedo cable, thinking that would be a quick fix, but no good - still doesn't work.
Before I start tearing anything apart, I wanted to see if anyone out there had any experiences and/or tips for quickly troubleshooting and resolving.
Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks All

You should inspect the speedo gear mounted on the front wheel. Elevate the front wheel so you can spin it, take your cable off the wheel, notice the flat blade end that turns the cable. Grab the flat blade end LIGHTLY with a pliers and slowly turn the wheel a revolution or two...the flat blade should not slip. It should turn with the wheel. If that checks out it only leaves the meter itself as being the problem.
