Hello all, excellent site! I just picked up a used 06 VFR w/1200 miles. Going on a trip to the Blue Ridge in May, leaving from Chicago. First day about 600 miles, should be the tough one. I did 300 today about 200 in the rain:frown:

This is the bike I should have bought TWO bikes ago! Any advice on the trip? easy luggage? throttle locks etc seat issues??

Wear good protection, no skin below the chin. I recommend wearing a one piece over suit.
Bring a fold up rain suit.
Wear a good boot that you can also walk around in. I can give a hearty recommendation for the Sidi Canyon.
Bring sunglasses that fit under your helmet, not a tinted face shield.
WEAR EAR PLUGS!!! Trust me on this one.
    Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

    Have fun.

    KC-10 FE out...

What part of the Blueridge do you plan to hit? If the southern part, let me know!!! If you are down here on a weekend, and we can put it together, lunch is on me. As far as the weather goes, down here, you can see all 4 seasons in a single day. Be ready for anything. 600 miles in one day is a full day of riding, but is very doable.

search for a thread asking a similar question answered by sloav8r... I think he covered most everything... I think if you search forums with 'long trip advice' you'll find it...
