    Hey All,

I have question that might seem silly, but I'm new to this, so you've been warned! :smile-new:

My current project is a '92 VFR 750 and I want to replace the controls the previous owner installed. I''m fairly certain they are not the original equipment and the are pretty beat up. My question is, can I swap the conteols out with a generic kit such as something like the following? https://www.ebay.com/itm/381681335903

I understand there might be some work involved, but I'm wondering:
    A) How difficult it really is and will it actually work well?
    B) Are there easier direct swaps that would work better?

    Thanks!!!

Boy thats cheap, must be from china, would help if you could see the plug. It can be done, i got a euro switch on one of mine, can turn head light on/off. That was an oem usrd honda part. You could roll the dice on those conttold inmho.

Yes, of course. There is absolutely nothing unconventional in the bike's switchpods. However, used switchpods are so utterly common I really don't see why you would take a chance on cheap Chinese knock-offs. Okay, $9/ea. is a pretty good argument...

But seriously, I know I wouldn't be satisfied with cheap n' cheerful when I knew that solid OEM parts were plentiful. (But then, I do have an irrational hatred for aftermarket mirrors, too.)

FWIW, virtually any OEM Honda handlebar controls that look like the '92 VFR's controls will work either directly or with some minor wire/connector swapping. It doesn't have to be from a VFR. If you're slightly adventurous, you can get the RHS pod from the UK, which, so long as it pre-dates 2004 will have an actual light switch, and any LHS pod will have a "passing" switch that activates the high beam momentarily. I've swapped both onto a number of US-spec bikes.

    Ciao,
