Has anybody modified a 87 VFR700F2 swingarm. Or has anyone found a extended swingarm frin another bike thatg was able to fit? By chance I found a extended '10 inches over swingarm from a 87 F1 Hurricane and want to know if it fits? Or is there any modifications that can be made for it to fit?

TOECUTTER has a thread called single vs. double , he swapped in a sssa onto his 86. I have seen him wheelie the bike, so I guess its solid.

I think you have the wrong bike to extend the swing arm on. May I direct you towards the Hayabusa aisle?

Extended swingarm on a VFR is idiotic and abominable. You want to totally ruin the handling of a great bike by your mistaken infatuation ??

As dangerous as it may be, I have to agree with Squirrelldude on this one - I'm not a fan of extended swingarms. Although, I must admit that the 320 fat tire ZX14's at the Friday bike night in town are pretty cool to see.....

Swingarm conversion are pretty difficult. Many have tried it and only a few have been successful. Just mounting it and getting it to line up properly is a chore in itself. Getting the shock linkage to work correctly is a completely different obsticle. Certainly not impossible, but if you attempt it be sure to have a lot of patience and a little money in reserve.
