When I Purchased My 1999 Vfr The Passenger Seat Cowl Is Missing The Back Tab That Slides Into The Back Of The Bike. I Want To Know If I Really Need That Tab..or Will The Cowl Come Up When Im Riding.. Any Suggestions Or Should I Just Buy Another Cowl...
You could try a little JB weld and a piece of plastic to fabricate a new tab. As the tab is out of sight when installed it should work fine. Even without the tab the cowl will likely stay down but it will align better with the tab. These are not cheap to replace so try the $5 fix first and you may save some cash for tires.
