It looks bigger than it really is from that camera angle. Doesn't look like it gonna win any races. But it is pretty cool.

My first thought was also that Harley had this market tied up already.

    Just watched the whole video.
I don't think HD would have any chance of lawsuits.
It is clearly faster than a HD and looks to have better cornering clearance and more advanced engine and suspension.

Wow, the perspective makes a huge difference. It looked so big I didn't see any way to ever even hold it up.

Studies show that most harleydoods like to be tied up by other harleydoods. Yes, they take turns too..

My first thought was, does the darn thing run.. It's almost too unlike a lot of steampunk "art". Looks like it does run..

As to winning races, I'd have to look in the great book but I bet there is no class at Bonneville for a steam powered bike.. A two way run might take a day or two..

Don't be trashing the steam powered vehicles too much. The Stanley Steamer was a going machine.

"In 1906 the Land Speed Record was broken by a Stanley steam car, piloted by Fred Marriott, which achieved 127 mph (204 km/h) at Ormond Beach, Florida. This annual week-long "Speed Week" was the forerunner of today's Daytona 500. This record was not exceeded by any car until 1910."

Another fast guy on a bike:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtiss_V-8_motorcycle

A story circulates aboot a steam car commissioned by Howard Hughes to upgrade the slow response time from startup to running time of the Stanley and other steam powered vehicles. The story is that the car was built. Hughes asked about the location of the boiler which according again to the story, was a network of tubing surrounding the driver area. Hughes supposedly had the car destroyed.

An interesting thing aboot steam engines is that they do not produce the standard torque/hp curve associated with RPM.

Jay Leno has I think a couple of steam cars..
