starting problems

    It's not "in" the basket. it rides on the ring gear outside the basket.

    if i remember the layout of my clutch assembly from when i had it out numerous times trien to trouble shoot a problem lol there is a one way bearing on the inside of the inner clutch sprag preventing it from spinning backwards and thats what that bearing looks like but i may be wrong lol

    could be - I've never tore apart an '83.

    parts is parts. just take that bitch apart and fix it. If you can fix cars, bikes are no different.

    similar problem

    Hey, hate to jump into thread with my issue, but I have a similar problem with my 94vfr750.

    I just get clicking from the starter relay.

    I haven't had to do too much diagnostics on the bike because it has rarely given me any issues.

    I do have a volt meter, but I need some detailed explanations on how to diagnose the relay and possibly the starter; where exactly do I connect what connections of volt meter to what and what do I need to have displayed to show if it is good or bad.
