Starter Solenoid??

    When i turn key on I have light etc...when I hit the start button i get a click at the solenoid in front of battery then everything is dead


    Peck the solenoid and i get lights....it sometimes will start, but mostly just clicks

    Bad solenoid???

    check the wiring by solenoid for burnt connectors

    The 4 that plug into it?

    they dont look burnt but the connectors are fragile and split some

    and twom of the plug in prongs on the solenoid seem fragile ..u can wiggle them

    Should I just change out the 4 plug in connectors? Before I buy a new solenoid?

    Seems like it could be a loose battery connection or a corroded main ground wire that goes from battery negative to frame or engine. :distress:

    So at the two big screws in soloenoid ..ann push start button

    If I got lights etc, when i hit start button it clicks at solenoid and the its dead no lights etc

    unless i play with solenoid wiggle it then i get power and lights back...but hit start button again and click again...SOMETIMES it will start

    I suggest you unplug the solenoid, remove the 2 large nuts and the top green plastic (or red) section where the wires connect, inspecting the bottom. I've seen a few of those melt/burn and cause problems like yours. Usually can't see the defects except from the bottom of that piece.

    Regardless of what you come up with do Squirrels suggestion anyway, just as part of maintenance

    well i have nothing now no lights no click nothing.....

    the bike has run well for a month just started doing this yesterday,,, rode to friends and bike wouldnt start back up had no lights no click ...checked main fuse so i wiggled solenoid and lights came back and it started as it should no click

    rode it home cut it off, turned key back on had lights but when try to restart click at solenoid no start .. no lights or power

    tried wiggle again lights came on and and it started again but could here slight click at start

    this morning had lights and power but click and no start then no lights

    came home after work turn key still no power/lights and the wiggle trick not work any more

    got 12.8 volts on battery, and 12.8 on two bolts on solenoid

    Also the two prongs on the solenoid that the red wires plug into are loose u can move them
