SO I was riding my '97 last night for a huge metro cruise and my bike was pretty warm, fan was on almost the whole cruise. (We were stop and go maybe 2 mph) So once I got to the end I went to get on the highway and right when I revved up it sputtered out and died. I pulled off to the side of the road and hit the start button and she fires right up, so then I got back on the road and the bike acted like nothing went wrong. So today I go out and look at her, check the wires and all seems good. So I was wondering if the heat caused a fuel lock or something. Any ideas?

Ok, I was just making sure it wasn't something serious.

Not likely. Running at parade speeds at low rpms with the fan running can drain the battery faster than the system is replenishing it. So, in theory, the bike should not have restarted ! Vapor lock ?? Maybe.

Thats what I was thinking. It was defiantly fuel related, It showed no signs until I went to speed up. I let it sit maybe 15 seconds while I pulled off the road. I hit the starter and vroom. Just like nothing happened. I guess its a mystery.
