I'm not St L, but in the Ozarks you will find some good riding roads. HWY 19 is one of my favorites, good luck with your search!

 

I'm about an hour North of Alton (ya know, The river ride...) on RT4 (old rt66)
I get down that way 3-4 times a year.

 

I'm in Shiloh,Il and ride with groups from http://www.midwestriderz.com.
It's a great site to find rides.

St. Louis here. Just purchased an 86 FVR700F2 project, Id like to have it running by the end of June, but we will see....

 

I ride with one guy that has a VFR... I ended up getting an FZ1 but my "Honda love affair" has not subsided. If they ever make a litre VFR... I'll be all over it. I don't mean to spam this board but we have a couple of very well qualified mechanics on our forum that are local to you. Saint Louis Area Riders (STLAR) and look up ZRX4ME. You can get a lot of expertise for less than dealerships but I figure that if you took on the project you are probably already a pretty good "wrecher" yourself and we could always use more of those.

Also, the local MSTA, formally HSTA, has a Yahoo meetup group and they are very active riders and there are a number of Viffer's in that group.

Thanks for the info dogpark. I would say I used to be a pretty good "wrencher" but its been 10 years. Its amazing how much you forget in that time. And amazing how quickly it comes back once you start again.

New VFR owner (07 found in a crate) here. Take delivery on Wednesday (rain gonna ruin that). I look forward to meeting other riders. I am a HD convert and look forward to the smooth riding!

There are probably more vfr's in the last group... it just depends on what kind of riding you want to do...

Enjoy that new VFR... If I were smaller or it's engine were a little bigger or the new new VFR 1200 were a little better looking I'd have one.. as it is... I'm still an FZ1 ST1300 kinda person.

STLAR is a great group of riders that actually ride alot.

 

Honda powersports in St. Louis (Lindbergh BLVD) just did a HUGE price drop for the VFR 1200, from 17K to 13K + for either the manual or DCT. I got a DCT earlier this year and love the damn thing!
