my friend and i just rebuild my forks on my vfr 87. we attached the speedocable again and now the mph or miles aren't clocking anything. i turned the cable with a screw driver and it clocks the mph just a little and the miles tick but when i attach it to the wheel where it was suppose to go it doesn't do anything? would i need a new cable? i took off the other end on the dash and the green wheel turns for the dash if i manually turn the speedocable with a screw driver. would the attachment on the wheel where the speedocable is be placed on incorrectly?

    i'm stumped on this one........HELP

I would take it off of both ends and turn it by hand and see if other end is turning.it might be broke on inside.

one of the ends isnt seated. if you look at the cable, there is a step on the end, insert it and make sure it's seated on the step (mesh with the drive gear). Get a new mechanic, 'tone is a painter ;-)
