My bike has a smoking problem and needs help kicking the habit.

At low revs there is no issue. But after a hard ride when I come to a stop I get quite a bit smoke coming from the front of the bike somewhere. The engine is running fine and is not making any noises. Nothing abnormal from the exhaust. Smoke comes out of the front end and sometimes up through the bars. It smells like oil smoke. No oil drips under the bike. I think it might be a seal or gasket in the VTEC system but I am not sure.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing I can think to do would be taking some bodywork off wash the engine with a good degreaser then take her for a ride to try to catch her in the act and proceed from there. While your looking for oil lift the tank and check the crankcase vent hose isn't bad because it can drip oil onto the block.

Are you using one of those shitty K&N filters? Many of us have encountered a leaky one.

I am using K&N. I wasn't aware of a leak issue with them. I will give that a look.

I had one that started leaking at the end nut during a 400 mile ride that left me stranded on the side of the highway at night and almost destroyed my engine.
Most others have seen leaks develop at the seal.

Does the smoke smell sweet? Check your coolant level. Smell goes a long way in diagnosis.

I think it might be the filter. Upon further inspection it seems to be where the issue is coming from. Oil change is happening this week. We will see if a fresh filter fixes the issue!
